Ah, the holidays. A time to gather together with friends and family. A time to give thanks. A time to give gifts. And a time—as evidence shows—when depression, anxiety, and misdirected anger are at their peak.
Shocker to no one—the holidays can make our emotional landscapes pretty complicated. Frenzied shopping, long lines, crashed websites, a culture that's taught us that our self-worth is wrapped up in photoshoot worthy holiday tablescapes, complicated family dynamics, all the feelings that happen when we're spending money we wish we had more of—all of that is just so amplified in the holidays, and so often that manifests in us blowing off steam to whoever happens to cross our paths at the wrong moment.
The anonymity of a computer screen makes it so much worse.
This holiday season, we hope you’ll join us in remembering that real humans are opening our emails and answering our phone calls, and most of those real humans are doing the very best they can.
I hope this doesn't come off as guilt-trippy! I spent a lot of years waiting tables and making cocktails before getting into the pot business, and I feel called to help change the way that many of us have been conditioned to talk down to people in positions of service.
The angels behind our screens here at East Fork are Savannah, Marissa, and Jeffery. It’s their job to do what they can to answer questions about when things will be back in stock or which color goes best with walnut. They update shipping information, write love notes, give great advice about where to eat and drink in Asheville, and so much more.
When you write in to care@eastfork.com, it's Jeffery, Marissa or Savannah opening your email and helping you out. Let's get to know these sweeties a little bit more:

Hi! I'm Marissa.
I am a Capricorn sun, Virgo rising, and Libra moon.
Something you might not know about me is that my absolute favorite thing in the world is cooking. Preparing food for myself, my loved ones, really anyone, makes me feel so grounded and creatively connected. Makes it all the better when I can show everything off on beautiful East Fork pieces :)
My favorite thing about working in customer service is how much of a lesson it is in energy protection and boundaries. As we all know, not everyone comes to customer care full of smiles and positivity-- we get to hear about problems, concerns, and issues all of the time. Working customer service is my real, day-to-day praxis in guarding my energy! Being able to brush things off, let it go, but still remain helpful and attentive serves me in all aspects of my life.
Hi, I'm Jeffery! I'm a Libra Sun, Gemini rising, and Sagittarius moon.
Something you might not know about me is that I consider Godzilla to be my god-child of sorts. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated with the big lizard and have watched every one of the movies at least twice.
My favorite thing about working in customer service is being able to solve the problem and if I'm not able to, finding the answer for next time is just as good. I'm pretty big on the phrase "never stop learning". I do my best to act on that.
I'm Savannah!
Marissa tells me more about my fate than astrology ever will, but I'm an Aquarius. I have a really magical one-year-old who has the body of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the humor of all three Stooges, the confidence of JVN, and the daintiness of Queen Elizabeth II. The best thing about my job is the relationships I've made with East Fork's loveliest fans. Anyone who reaches out with positive sentiments on launch days... y'all are the real champs <3
