Allow me to introduce you to my dear friend, Tajin Clasico—a dried spice blend comprising ground chili peppers, salt, and dehydrated lime juice. It pairs beautifully with both sweet and savory items—think crunchy cucumber salads, charred corn on the cob, the quintessential avocado toast, or my favorite application: sprinkled on ultra-hydrating peak season sliced fruits like mangoes, cantaloupe, and watermelon. This holy trinity blend of spicy, salty, and acidic is also a welcomed addition on a rimmed margarita glasses (as me how I know.)
Alright, now that I’ve convinced you of the magical properties of Tajín, let’s talk about this refreshing summer snack. This loosey-goosey “recipe” is more of a roll call of ingredients; the quantity and ratios are completely up to you. When it comes to cooking in the summer, my method is always to keep meals as unfussy and fresh as possible. So without further ado, here’s what ya do: slice watermelon, crumble feta cheese, tear up mint leaves, and generously sprinkle with Tajín. That’s it. Adjust as needed based on your personal taste buds.
