A vessel steeped in tradition and filled to the brim with human connection.

The Kulhad is a limited release form that we originally made in collaboration with Diaspora Co in 2022. 5% of The Kulhad sales in 2023 will go to Vrutti. Kulhads are handleless cup forms that originated centuries ago in the Indus Valley. Today you can still find potters near railways in India, throwing one-time-use cups "off the hump" to hold a few glugs of tea before being thrown into the scrap pile to be recycled and re-made into kulhad of the future. On a potter’s wheel, East Fork’s Cade Hollomon threw iterations of this ceramic vessel that were informed by images of traditional chai cups from India sent over from Sana Javeri Kadri, Diaspora Co.’s founder. One of those vessels became the prototype for the form that we made in small numbers in the factory, and first glazed in Rococo in 2022. Today, we produce a limited number of The Kulhad and feature in our seasonal colors.
