Palestinian Za'atar

Our hands-down favorite za’atar blend.

For an herbaceous, nutty addition to your spice rack, look no further than za’atar. In Palestine, za’atar is traditionally eaten for breakfast with olive oil and fresh flatbread, but you’ll find ways to enjoy it all day long: sprinkled over vegetables for roasting, over labneh or Greek yogurt for dipping, or in marinades.

This Za’atar is made by Canaan USA in the traditional style using freshly harvested and dried oregano, roasted sesame seeds, Dead Sea salt, and sumac.

Rooted in New Jersey and Palestine, Canaan USA works with over 2000 family farms to bring incredible spices and olive oils to global markets. Their work supports ecological sustainability in Palestine and empowers countless members of the country’s traditional agricultural communities.
